This model uses the calibre VD75 from Seiko Instruments. It displays the hours and minutes, and a small register at 6 o'clock shows the seconds while registers at 3 o'clock and 9 o'clock respectively show date and week day.
The case is water-resistant to depths of 5 bar and uses surgical-grade 316L stainless steel with hardened mineral crystal and anti-reflection coating for optimal readability.
The GAVOX Curtiss P-40 was named in honor of the American Volunteer Group (AVG) who joined the Flying Tigers in China in 1939 to prepare the local defense against attacks from the Axis alliance.

The first GAVOX collection was officially presented to the public between Friday 14th and Saturday 15 of December 2012. The event, held in Genval, Belgium, was attended by guests from various professional fields such as aviation, military and modelling.
The list of guests also included a prominent member of the watch collecting community, namely Ernie Romers, founder of Watchuseek.com, the World's most visited watch forum. Mister Romers was in the area with his family to visit a relative, but he made a little detour to get aquainted with the GAVOX brand.

Michael Happé, founder of GAVOX, wishes to thank all the persons who honored him with their presence during the event.
On the evening of the 14th and 15th of December, Gavox will be holding a party in Genval, Belgium, to unveil the new Curtiss P-40 collection.
Taking cues from aviation instruments, the Curtiss P-40 timepieces are named after the notorious fighter plane Curtiss P-40 Warhawk, which was used by Allied Forces during WWII.
This collection was created in honor of the American Volunter Group (AVG) who joined the Flying Tigers in China in 1939 to prepare the Chinese defense against the Japanese attack.
